Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei make it a perfect day for China

China won four out of four finals at the PROTON Malaysia Open Superseries when Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei defeated team mates Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang 21-12, 6-21, 21-17 at the Putra Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei podiumEarlier, Wang Shixian defeated Wang Yihan 21-18, 21-14 in the women’s singles while He Hanbin-Ma Jin captured their first Superseries title when they beat Jiaming Tao-Tian Qing 21-13, 13-21, 21-16 in the mixed doubles final.
Chai Biao-Guo Zhengdong also captured the opening title of the year when they defeated Denmark’s Jonas Rasmussen-Mads Conrads-Petersen 21-16, 21-14 in the men’s doubles final.
The men’s singles between Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei and Indonesia’s Taufik Hidayat was the only match not to feature a Chinese player.
Tian Qing said she was delighted to win the PROTON Malaysia Open Superseries as it was a good way to start the new season.
“I hope this will be the start of many more titles. It was a tough match but we managed to pull through,” said Tian Qing, who was rushing to the airport to catch a flight to Korea where she will play in the VICTOR Korea Open.
“The fans were fantastic and I hope we can come back and defend the title next year.”
