European champion Peter Gade is unfazed with the pressure of being drawn in the same group as World No 1 Lee Chong Wei in the VICTOR BWF Super Series Finals 2010 in Taipei.
If anything, the Dane embraces pressure and believes it is part of the trappings that come with the status of being one of the top players in the world.

Preparing for an assault on the VICTOR BWF Super Series Finals which kicks off on Wednesday at the Hsinchuang Gymnasium in Chinese Taipei, Gade believes his experience and aptitude will hold him in good stead as he takes on the worlds best in Group A of the men’s singles draw.
Besides Chong Wei, Gade will also have teammate Jan Jorgensen and the dangerous Vietnamese, Nguyen Tien Minh for company in Taipei in the season ending tournament for the top eight players/pairs in the BWF Super Series Standings.
In Group B, China’s Chen Long, the No 2 seed, was also drawn with his compatriot Du Pengyu, Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana and Indonesia’s World Championships silver medallist Taufik Hidayat.
“Pressure has always been a big part of my life and it comes with the territory of being a top player. I have no problems with the pressure and will continue to give my best in the tournament,” said Gade after the Draw ceremony in Taipei on Tuesday.
The Dane, however, cautioned against expecting too much as he was returning to the game after recovering from a back injury.
“This tournament, hopefully, will help me prepare to get back into the game and for the future tournaments this year,” added Gade.
Gade will play Jorgensen in his opening match on Wednesday while Chong Wei will take on Tien Minh in the two-group tournament.
The preliminary rounds will be played in a league format with the top two players/pairs from each group progressing to the semi-finals.
In the men’s doubles, fans are in for some amazing badminton as Group A will see China’s Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng and Malaysia’s Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong renew their rivalry.
